Uncle Kracker to Perform at the 37th Annual Vidalia Onion Festival

Vidalia, Georgia, USA (October 15, 2013) — Multi-genre singer, songwriter and musician Uncle Kracker will headline the concert at the 37th Annual Vidalia Onion Festival on Saturday, April 26, 2014.

His recently released album Midnight Special, produced with Sugar Hill Records, includes the single “Nobody’s Sad on a Saturday Night,” a theme song for a weekend party, which has already hit the airwaves and is being embraced by Country radio.

It’s the latest accomplishment of an impressive career: Uncle Kracker contributed to Kid Rock’s 1996 independent release “Early Mornin’ Stoned Pimp,” and the 1998 multi-platinum “Devil Without A Cause.” With Kid Rock, Uncle Kracker co-wrote hits “Bawitdaba,” “Cowboy,” “Forever,” “Only God Knows Why,” and 2008’s No. 1, “All Summer Long.” Uncle Kracker’s double-platinum album “Double Wide,” spawned the smash single “Follow Me.”  His gold-selling second album, “No Stranger To Shame,” delivered a hit cover version of Dobie Gray’s classic “Drift Away.” The track reached the Top 10 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and set a record for most weeks at No. 1 on the Adult Contemporary chart, where it remained for 22 straight weeks. “When The Sun Goes Down,” with Country superstar Kenny Chesney, topped Billboard’s “Hot Country Songs” chart for five consecutive weeks. The 2009 release “Happy Hour” produced the smash hit “Smile.” In June 2010, he released a six song EP, “Happy Hour: The South River Road Sessions,” which included the Academy of Country Music Award nominated song “Good To Be Me,” featuring Kid Rock.

The concert will be held at the Vidalia Regional Airport the evening of April 26, 2014 (additional details to be announced). Tickets cost $5 per person (children two and younger are free); all activities at the airport including carnival access are included in the admission price.
